COMPETITION CATEGORIES AND DESCRIPTIONS
- A. Realistic: Exact proportion carved in an accurate representation of subject
- B. Bird Realistic: An accurate representation carved in the round
- C. Aquatic Realistic: An Accurate representation carved of subject
- D. Chip Carving: Flat work or in the round made with precise cuts
- E. Caricatures: Distortion or exaggeration of the distinguishing features
- F. Mythical, / Santa: Legendary Characteristic of myths or folk tales
- G. Relief Carving: Shallow & Deep cuts in a flat panel of wood.
- H. Ornamental & Christmas Ornament Contest: Serving as an ornament or decorative
- I. Stylized / Abstract: Simplified visual form that emphasizes particular or design qualities
- J. Open: Carving that does not fit into any other category. No Rough-Out Carvings or Instructed Assisted.
- K. Wood Burning: Process of burning a design into wood.
- L. Youth: Class for all Carvers under 18 years of age ( Ribbons only – No Cash Prize)
- Special Awards Given:
